CUSTOMS UNION, NEW TECHNICAL REGULATIONS AND RAMIFICATIONS FOR EXPORTERS
The new Russian Law on Technical Regulation defines the products (product groups) subject to mandatory certification for conformity to GOST-R or Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR CU). Those products CANNOT be legally imported in the Customs Union (so far Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, more countries to join soon) unless certified for conformity.
According to the newly adopted Customs Union Technical Regulations (TR CU), certification documents can be issued ONLY in the name of the importer, which is to be a Russian legal entity.
The biggest practical ramification for foreign exporters to Russia is as follows:
The producer now has to bind his product with a trusted Russian company for the period of the certificate’s validity (1-5 years).
If you do not have such a trusted company in Russia,
or you do not want to emphasize one of your local distributors over others,
or want to bring your goods to Russia prior to finding your distributors,
YOU DO NEED A REPRESENTATIVE!
“GOST-R AGENT” is a Moscow-based Russian company designed to help you comply with the current regulations in Russia and the Customs Union. We are prepared to act as your Russian representative legal entity. We shall represent you in Russia to the scope as you determine; we shall apply for your certificates as your “representative”, see the application processed as promptly as possible, and retrieve the final papers for you. By doing so we assume responsibilities for the quality of your product before the customers and government control bodies.
